Abeng Arts recognizes and celebrates the healing and transformative power of the performing arts through arts management, marketing, and booking services. Our artists are global, transformative, and use their artistry as a vehicle for understanding, healing, development, and empowerment of the human spirit. From the Akan (Ghana, Africa) word meaning conch shell or cow’s horn, the Abeng served as a vital tool of communication in Maroon communities throughout the Caribbean’s long history of colonization.
Abeng Arts has been active for over 10 years advocating, presenting, and researching artists and arts organizations locally, nationally, and internationally, and is a member of Arts Northwest, North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents; Association of Performing Arts Presenters; Caribbean Studies Association.
We have partnered with Florida International University Latin American and Caribbean Center, University of Miami Center for Latin American Studies, and the General Consul of Trinidad and Tobago on the U.S. premiere of the documentary film, Calypso Dreams; and the CARICOM Center for Enterprise.
