“I’ve always said to myself, anything is possible…” Usain Bolt, fastest man in the world. The 60-minute film chronicles the accomplishments of Gold Medial-winning Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt, Shelly Ann Fraser, Asafa Powell, Veronica Campbell, and Melanie Walker at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Set against a Jamaican backdrop, scenes include interviews with the athletes, their families, Reggae and Dancehall artists, government and athletic community officials, and fans of all ages. In his first film, Garcia-Guereta captures the reactions and emotions of his adopted country–Jamaica–as it witnesses history. This entertaining story is enhanced with classic and new reggae songs, produced in part by Nice Time Productions.
A portion of the proceeds will support Jamaica Arts Development Foundation, a Florida-based corporation, on a mission to create educational and developmental opportunities for Jamaica’s arts and entertainment community worldwide. The aim is to implement programs and activities geared toward arts education, management, and creative excellence. JADF recently facilitated a three-year scholarship to Kingston’s Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts, with funding provided by Nice Time Productions.
