More details to follow on the four part arts/cultural series, each Saturday of March at the Lauderhill Art Center (LAC).
Four months ago, The City of Lauderhill threatened to close down the exhibition space (LAC) if someone (artists) didn’t use the space for a public event sometime soon. This prompted David Muir to put together this exhibition at the drop of a dime, amidst fears that the City would carry through on their threats. Muir was insistent on assisting the greater community of other (mainly Jamaican) artists who use the space and try to ensure that the space be kept open for the arts. In light of this week’s 20 million dollar cuts to the National Endowment for the Arts (see coverage at Americans for the Arts blog) it has become increasingly important to show support for the Creative Industries of South Florida.
